I was introduced to the beloved/addictive
Pinterest about 2 months ago and it has let loose a craftiness that I never knew I had in me. I have always wanted to be
that girl who you look to and say "you made that?" Although I see some fabulous ideas, I never know exactly where to begin. A wonderfully crafty friend of mine, Dana told me to check out youtube.com to get tutorials on how to make certain crafts. So I pulled out my sewing machine that I have touched maybe twice since I received it 3 years ago and watched some youtube videos on how to thread a bobbin. Let me tell you something, I had no idea that it was going to take me 30 minutes to figure out how to thread and load a bobbin. At least I was off and running. So I decided to pick up some fabric and just try to sew some strips together. This is what I came up with.

Now, let me be super honest with you here. My intention was to make just a cute patchwork quilt. Unfortunately I am a beginner at this and cut diamonds instead of squares. It turned out looking pretty cool though. I have never been much for doing things the correct way just finding a way to make it work and this first piece is just that. I haven't had the nerve to revisit it yet, but hopefully I will in the next few weeks and I will then post the finished product.
After the quilt topper, I thought I could do just about anything so I decided to make Baby Girl's halloween costume. Here is the end result of that effort.
Abby Cadabby! Pretty close right? Seriously, the cutest Abby Cadabby that I have ever seen!
I had been scrolling my way through the DIY section of Pinterest and had fallen in love with the idea of button art. I decided to make a button Christmas Tree for my husband's grandmother. She has been battling Cancer and I wanted to give her an easy way to decorate without putting up the Christmas Tree. Her Christmas decorations are poinsettias and cold. I thought this turned out really neat.
I figured that I would brave the sewing machine again and try to make a crayon wallet for my kids. I made my first crayon wallet and it turned out great. After completing it, I decided that every child in the family would receive one for Christmas. So I slaved away and made 12 different crayon wallets, which gave me plenty of practice with the sewing machine. They all came out so perfect and I wanted to show you the first one.
Remember those buttons that I told you about earlier? Well, here is my second craft made with buttons.
A button bracelet!!! I am so in love with these! I made one for every female in my family for Christmas and cannot wait to finally make one or three for myself.
I did make a two handed pot holder to pull casseroles and such out of the over and made a iron board caddy for my mother's quilting habit. I wish I had taken a picture of those because they looked amazing.
I think that it all for now. I can't wait to post more of my crafting for all to see.
